Note to self: Do not stuff your face and try to take amazing photos. I had one hand on my never ending wine glass and the other on the fork. My photography had to suffer. Sorry guys.
Congratulations to Chef Todd for winning the judges choice! Our own Chef Kevin won best guest appetizer. Lemme tell you why I don't have very many pictures of the butternut squash...it's because I had my face down in the bowl....licking every ounce of it. It was fabulous. I almost wanted to cry.

Pics from Cocktail Throwdown 2009
What can I say? I love a party with free booze and food. This event, was by far, incredibly fun - the cocktails were flowing and creative. I was really impressed with all of the entries. I had my two favorites of the night, which belonged to Fino and La Condesa. Happy to say, that fantastic watermelon concoction won!
Enjoy the pictures. Sorry I'm too lazy to write commentary. (I should be working...)
Look it's me!! In front of sexy guitars! After 5 cocktails!

My favorite recipe EVER
This week has gotten me motivated to get back in the kitchen again. Besides cooking at home, I have been dabbling with taking my lunch to work and making yummy salads and homemade dressings.
I found one of my older Cooking Light recipes that was a jaw-dropper. I seriously could not believe how good this tasted. Actually, I'm attempting my creation tonight. Hopefully I can still do this recipe justice: Tuna London Broil with Wasabi Cream Sauce
Pictures tonight. Promise.
As promised....

well hello there lovies
What's been going on? Oh, let's see....Not much here. Recap of last weekend? Attended a Yelp Elite event @Twin Liquors Hancock. It was interesting...there were a lot of things they could not do, because of the TABC laws, that I wasn't aware of. Hence, I did not get sloshed. But we headed over to Nomad Bar and had a jolly good time with Dana and Jim and Jake. I'll throw a few pictures in here later since I'm not on the Mac.
Saturday was sadly disappointing, as Oklahoma State lost to UoH. They really picked up momentum during the second half, but it seemed the Cougars had a few sheer luck plays and beat them out. Matt and I were very sad....as OSU was ranked in the top 5. Now we are 16. Oh the AGONOY!!!! Texas won. Good for them. Here are a few pictures to make you feel better. Actually it makes me feel better.
Mmmmmm hi Zac! I still love you regardless.
Sunday was a fun day with my first experience at attending a fantasy football watch party. We went to Third Base @SouthparkMeadows. The food was shitty. Seriously. The beer prices were also way too expensive. After 3 hours we left and tried a new sportbar in our neighborhood called First Down and Stassney. It was ok. Cheap. That's all I can say honestly. Also, the season finale of True Blood was Sunday. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. I expected more. Next season should be filled with shocking revelations - if they follow any semblence of the book.
Wow, look at me go. Ok, back to work. Ciao kiddies!

My darling husband RAWKS!
So in case you didn't get the message yesterday, it was my birthday. Hooray birthday. I actually had a fantastic day, thanks to my coworkers and my friends. Work was lots of fun, as you can tell from the previous post. I got roses and a beautiful orchid from my mother-in-law, birthday cake and a big sing along. I think getting flowers at work rules. Everyone comes into your office and smiles, then glares at you in jealousy behind your back. :)
Matt took me out for a surprise dinner to Perla's on South Congress. I'll write up a Yelp review shortly. Dinner was fantastic and we followed up at Hotel San Jose for drinks. It gets better folks. We come home and Matt makes me hide in the bedroom as he gets my present. I walk in and see the dining table wrapped in a bedsheet. Matt went to pick up some pieces of art by Hope Perkins. She is Jake's roommate and I have always loved her stuff.
So Matt lets me pick out a piece. And I pick this guy.....
I am in love with my new deer. Seriously. And my husband, of course.
