is it wrong to be in love

with our new shower?

i am not a shower fan. personally, i hate taking a shower because i have so much maintenance to do. but i am in love. it's like a resort shower, all glass doors and beautiful tile everywhere. can't forget the built in seating area when you get too tired from cleaning your ass and need a break.

the window is a nice touch too.

even colotte likes the bathroom.

moving on in....

this weekend has been incredibly exhausting, yet so worth it! we moved into our new house on saturday morning. we did the smart thing and hired movers. our yelp review will follow shortly. they were great and highly recommended.

thanks to a drunk jake and ryan, we got all our new ikea furniture assembled. i know matt preaches on about buying local, but we *heart* ikea. they really have some interesting and unique pieces.

sue and colotte are adjusting quite nicely. colotte had a rough first day but was doing better that night. both are underfoot at every minute, but they seem to be happy with the new space.

there is still quite a bit of unpacking to do. hopefully we can get it all done by this week. it's been surreal moving into a new place and leaving our old neighborhood. i will miss the far west neighborhood but change is good for the soul.

here are some pics. i'll add more once we get the rooms completed.

origami wedding decorations

so i have been tossing around this lovely idea of folding 1001 origami cranes. it's supposed to bring good luck and all that wonderful positive energy to the couple.

the ups and down of financial responsibility

ready for a sad blog?

after reviewing our financial obligations to our new house, i noticed the majority of the wedding money we saved will be gone. right now i am feeling a lot of anger and guilt for not being on top of the possible extra charges required to buy a house.

the last thing i wanted to do was put our wedding expenses on credit cards, but that appears to be our best option. it's funny that i am mad at our new house. i don't want it to interfere with my perfect wedding. i was so excited that we already had the money put aside and there would be no issues of financial hardships in the future. no water and bologna sandwiches for us! we could still go out for steaks and pay for our honeymoon in one night!

but now reality has set in. time to grow up and get rid of my monthly strut spending fees and whole foods lunches. *sigh*
